NEW Free Pattern

Hello everyone,

the last couple days where stressful but full of crocheting. Here is one goody for you guys a free pattern for a Frog Rag Doll:

Frog Rag Doll Pattern

Supplies:

Body, Arms, Leg, Head

  • Yarn - I used Deborah Norville Everyday Baby yarn (DK light, #3) around 308 yards in Green, A little bit of white and black ( Red Heart Supersaver).

  • Hook: I used a 4mm Clover Amour Hook

  • Scissors

  • Darning Needle

  • Polyester Fiberfill

Optional:

  • Yarn - Deborah Norville Everyday Baby yarn (DK light, #3) just a little bit in Aqua for the the bow

  • For the lettering I used surface single crochet

Abbreviations:

  • Sc - single crochet

  • Sc2tog - single crochet 2 together

  • Dc - Double crochet

  • Dc2tog - Double crochet 2 together

  • Hdc - Half double crochet

  • St - stitch

  • Ch - chain

Head

Eye (make 2)

Fill the Eyes with fiber fill.

Pupil (make 2)

From here on out the chain 2 doesn’t count as a stitch

Body (make 2)

  1. Chain 50+3

  2. Dc in 3rd chain from hook, Dc across [50]

  3. Turn, ch1, sc across [50]

  4. Turn, ch2, Dc across [50]

  5. Turn, ch1, sc across [50]

  6. Turn, ch2, Dc2tog, Dc in the next 46 st, Dc2tog [48]

  7. Turn, ch1, sc across [48]

  8. Turn, ch2, Dc2tog, Dc in the next 44 st, Dc2tog [46]

  9. Turn, ch1, sc across [46]

  10. Turn, ch2, Dc2tog, Dc in the next 42 st, Dc2tog [44]

  11. Turn, ch1, sc across [44]

Fasten off.

Arms (make 2) & Legs (make 2)

  1. Chain 20 slip st to first chain to close

  2. Chain 2, Dc in the next 20 chains, slip st to 1st Dc

  3. Chain 2, Dc in the next 20 st, slip st to 1st Dc

4. - 11. Repeat row 3

12. Ch1, sc in next 20 Dc, slip st to 1st sc

13. Ch1, sc in next 20 sc, slip st to 2st sc

14.- 18. Repeat row 13.

19. Ch1, (skip 1 st, 5Dc in next sc, skip 1 st) repeat 2 more times, sc in the next 8 sc, close with a slip st to first DC

Make sure you close the last row.

Assembly the Rag Doll:

  • Put the 2 bodies on top of each other and start on the smaller side and sc going around. Don’t forget to put the arms and legs where you want them, do not sc the small end shut you will need it to turn the body around for a nicer finish.

  • Then you stitch the head onto the small opening with a sewing needle.

If you want you can add a bow or any other appliquate you would like.

If you want to add a name on the body part please do so before sewing the 2 parts together.

Optional:

Bow:

  1. Ch 34

  2. Sc in second ch from hook, sc across [33]

  3. Turn, Ch2, Dc in the next 33 st [33]

  4. Turn, ch2, hdc in the next 33 st [33]

  5. Turn, ch2, Dc in the next 33 st [33]

  6. Turn, ch1, sc in the next 33 st [33]

Fold the your piece in half and sc both shorts sides together. Make sure that the line you just sc together is in the center and wrap the yarn as many times around you see fit. Secure the yarn.
